In 1895 the company Deutsche Gasbahn-Gesellschaft was founded here and this is where the first gas engine operated trams were built, commencing the era of the famous Dessau wagon manufacturing which continues to this day. Following the reunification of Germany, the area was revived and redeveloped. Today, more than 50 companies from the leading industries of vehicle manufacturing and metal processing have their headquarters here. This is also where the group head office of the “Stadtwerke” public utilities for media supply.
The industrial park is located right by the B184 road to the north of the city district of Dessau. It is fully developed and has a very good transport connection which will be further optimised once the system of bypasses is complete. Other advantages include the availability of production halls and railroad connections. That is what makes the WBD Industriepark a location bringing together tradition and future.
